This blog will be dedicated to the lookout for the best hotels and hotel specials in and around Ruidoso, New Mexico, as well as some events going on to bring more people to this amazing place. Ruidoso is itself a pretty small town, with only a population of 8,029 at the 2010 census, but hospitality is no stranger here, as there are plenty of luxury hotel suites you can find around this area. This is a town rich in history, with many locations for visitors to find exciting and interesting, including the amazing Native American ruins found here and the leisurely skiing to be enjoyed in the winter, to name simply a couple.
Some of the best hotels I’ve managed to find are both in and outside of town. In this first blog I’ll take a look at a couple of places I’ve found both in and out of Ruidoso to balance things out.
First, I’ll mention Hotel Ruidoso. It’s of course unique, given you’ll only find this hotel in Ruidoso as opposed to hotel chains like Best Western, and it’s in the heart of Ruidoso and Ruidoso Downs. Each neatly arranged room has all of the features you’d come to expect from a 3-Diamond rated and AAA Approved resort, including a 32-inch screen with HBO, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer, clock radio, and free wired/wireless high speed Internet. Their amenities include guest laundry, business center with fax and copy machines, indoor pool, free hot breakfast, fitness center, and a conference room.
It’s an excellent location to celebrate weddings and other occasions, but it’s more ideal for its location to everything within Ruidoso such as Ski Apache, Ruidoso Downs Racetrack and Casino, Ruidoso Convention Center, art galleries, many shopping locations and restaurants. This is an excellent place if you plan on doing a lot in Ruidoso.
Now, if you want luxury without taking out a mortgage for a vacation, I’ve found that Barcelona Suites is an excellent lodging choice.
Located roughly three hours away from Ruidoso in Albuquerque, Barcelona Suites is a great hotel to celebrate a lavish wedding, corporate events, family reunions, or perhaps just a really large birthday party, and their amenities and accommodations are more than enough to keep any guest happy. First of all, they’re pet friendly, so if you’re traveling with any four-legged friends, you don’t have to worry about finding a place for them.
Barcelona’s many amenities include free breakfast, pools, a business center and free high speed Internet. Long-term hotel stays are also encouraged if needed, with two-room suites available.
The hotel also contains a game room, laundry room, meeting rooms, and a parking garage. Specials are readily available for rooms as well and some are particularly favorable for couples escaping for a romantic weekend.
Of course, these are only a couple of the many great hotels you’ll find for convenience when you’re traveling to New Mexico. In future posts, I’ll not only mention other hot locations, but also some upcoming exciting events in the Land of Enchantment.
